Spa Review: The Sompotan Spa, Prince Hotel KL

During our stay at The Prince Hotel KL, we were also treated to a spa treatment at The Sompotan Spa, a luxurious spa located on Level 10 of the hotel. The Sompotan Spa features a variety of therapeutic, healing as well as relaxing treatments, designed to alleviate stress and physical tension and balance the body, mind and spirit for overall holistic well-being.

The Sompotan Spa at The Prince Hotel KL features 3 couple suites with private tub, shower room & steam room, 4 single suite with shower room & steam room, and 1 private foot massage room. Many of their treatments use the esse organic skincare product from South Africa. These products are free of synthetic chemicals.

Although this is a city spa, you do feel like you've been transported elsewhere as soon as you walk through the doors. The reception area is tastefully decorated, with soft music playing in the background, and gentle sounds of water trickling from the water feature. A 60-minute signature massage here costs RM160++, which is very reasonably priced. If you want to have a full pampering session, there is also a 200 minutes spa indulgence package (Ultimate Wellbeing) complete with organic body exfoliator, detox body masak, floral bath, signature massage and anti-aging facial for RM640++.

Hubby and I both had the Bliss Spa Indulgence package - 80 minutes for RM190++, which includes a organic ground coffee beans scrub, followed by steam session, and ended with a signature massage. First, we were asked to change into the disposable underwear and put on the bath robe and our massage therapists gave us a floral foot bath. Then, we were given a full body scrub using esse's organic ground coffee beans which contain antioxidants and used to exfoliate, soothe and regenerate the skin. The coffee bean scrub was quite fine, and it did a marvellous job of making our skin look radiant afterwards. We were then taken to a steam room for 10 minutes, and then asked to rinse off the scrub before we proceeded to their signature massage.

The Sompotan Spa's signature massage is a combination of Malay, Swedish and Shiatsu massage techniques. It aims to heal and strengthen the body and mind, improve blood circulation and create a feeling of well-being. We both went for "medium" pressure. I was very impressed with this massage, I felt so relaxed that I almost dozed off during the massage. Hubby also commented that he had a very good massage and felt like a "brand new man". :D

Verdict: Thoroughly enjoyed the signature massage and the organic coffee beans exfoliator also left my skin feeling soft and smooth.
